MARC BOUCHER
BARITONE The French Canadian baritone Marc Boucher was born in Québec. His operatic engagements have included Pelléas Pelléas et Mélisande, Elder McLean Susanna, Police Inspector The Consul and Marcello La bohème for the Opéra de Montréal, Escamillo Carmen in North Carolina,Zurga Les pêcheurs de perles for the Opera Orchestra of New York and the Orquestra Sinfonica del Estado, Mexico, both conducted by Eve Queler, Athanaël Thaïs and the title-role in Nabucco for Opera in Concert, Toronto, Ben The Telephone and Count Gil Il segreto di Susanna at the Festival des Hautes-Laurentides and Baron Douphol La traviata for Opera Hamilton. Concert engagements have included Bach Cantata No. 82 with the Orquesta de Extremadura, Beethoven Choral Symphony with the McGill Chamber Orchestra, Berlioz L’enfance du Christ for Le Grand Choeur de Montréal, Brahms Requiem for the Société Philharmonique de Montréal, Duruflé Requiem and Gounod Messe Sainte Cécile with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra conducted by Charles Dutoit, Fauré Requiem with the Orchestre Métropolitain du Grand Montréal, Mozart Mass in C Minor for the Orchestre Symphonique de Laval, Mozart Vesperae solemnes de confessore for the Orchestre Philharmonique du Nouveau Monde and a Rodgers & Hammerstein Pops programme with the Kitchener Waterloo Symphony Orchestra. Marc Boucher’s broadcasts for CBC Radio include The Consul, Le nozze di Figaro and L’heure espagnole. He holds an exclusive contract with XXI CDs for whom his recordings include Chants des Noëls Anciens et Nouveaux, Mélodies by Fauré and Hahn, the Fauré Requiem and the Mozart Mass in C Minor and Requiem. Marc Boucher’s European engagements have included Escamillo Carmen for the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, Cythéron Platée for the English Bach Festival at the Megaron, Athens, Mozart Coronation Mass with he Ten Tors Orchestra, Philidor Ode Anglaise with La Grande Écurie et la Chambre du Roy and Recitals for Radio France and at the Opéra de Monte-Carlo Current engagements include Sacristan Tosca for the Atelier Lyrique, Tourcoing, and the St Matthew Passion with La Grande Écurie et la Chambre du Roy.
