Javier Arrey Baritone

A Finalist in the 2008 Competizione dell’Opera in Dresden, Javier Arrey represented Chile at the 2009 Cardiff Singer of the World Competition, reaching the Finals of the Song Competition, and was later selected by Dolora Zajick to be part of the Institute for Young Dramatic Voices in Orem, Utah. In 2011, he was a winner at Operalia in Moscow.

Conductors with whom Javier Arrey has worked include Philippe Augin, Plácido Domingo, Lawrence Foster, Gustav Kuhn, Jan Latham-Koenig and William Lacey.

His operatic repertoire includes Malatesta Don Pasquale, Enrico Lucia di Lammermoor, Silvio Pagliacci, The Husband Amelia al ballo, Ben The Telephone, Sharpless Madama Butterly and Figaro Il barbiere di Siviglia.

His concert repertoire includes Brahms Ein deutsches Requiem, Fauré Requiem, Handel Messiah and Orff Carmina Burana.

Javier Arrey is currently a member of the Domingo-Cafritz Young Artist Programme at the Washington National Opera.

His future engagements include Silvio Pagliacci and Carmina Burana at the National Centre for the Performing Arts, Mumbai, and Giorgio Il Postino at the Teatro Municipal de Santiago.
