Lucy Hall Soprano

From Nottinghamshire, 24 year old Lucy Hall graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with a First Class Honours Degree and the Dove Memorial Prize for the highest marked GSMD graduate across all disciplines in 2010 and the Ann Wyburd Prize for the most outstanding lieder performance in final recitals.

Her other awards include the Southwell Choral Society Bursary, a Countess of Munster Award, the Peggy Oldham Award, the Song Prize at the National Mozart Competition, a Sybil Tutton Award and the Simon Fletcher Charitable Trust Major Award for 2011.

She has just completed a run as Barbarina in Le nozze di Figaro for British Youth 0pera, and her concert experience includes Mestra in the première of Edward Rushton’s Cicadas with the London Symphony 0rchestra and Friday Night is Music Night with the BBC Concert Orchestra.

Lucy Hall is generously supported by an Ian Fleming Charitable Trust Award, administered by the Musicians’ Benevolent Fund, the Worshipful Society of Apothecaries, the Worshipful Company of Glovers, the City of London Corporation, Bowring Transport LTD and Digby Johnson on behalf of the Johnson Partnership Solicitors of Nottingham.

Her current engagements include Sandrina La finta giardiniera at the Grand Théâtre du Luxembourg and the Opéra de Toulon, Susanna Le nozze di Figaro at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Bridesmaid Der Freischütz and Nielsen Symphony No. 3 with the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Sir Colin Davis at the Barbican Hall, the B Minor Mass in Bath Abbey, the St John Passion in Hereford Cathedral, Messiah at the Albert Hall, Nottingham, Saul in Beverley Minster, as well as on tour with the Israel Camerata, Mozart Exsultate Jubilate with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Mozart Requiem at the Ambonay Festival, as well as with the London Mozart Players.

Currently, she is a scholar on the Guildhall Artist’s Masters Programme studying with Susan McCulloch.
