
SARAH REDGWICK
SOPRANO Born in Wakefield, Sarah Redgwick graduated with first class honours from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and completed her studies in the postgraduate Opera course. The winner of the GSMD Gold Medal for singers, she was a Samling Foundation Scholar, and has received awards from The Countess of Munster Trust, the Madeleine Finden Trust, the Sybil Tutton Trust and the Wingate Foundation. During 2008 / 2009, she made her role debuts as Rosalinda Die Fledermaus for London Lyric Opera and Violetta La traviata for Scottish Opera. Other engagements have included Marzelline Fidelio (Opera Holland Park, Oxford Philomusica, Scottish Opera), Frasquita Carmen and Zerlina Don Giovanni (Mid Wales Opera), Donna Elvira in Gazzaniga’s Don Giovanni (Bampton Classical Opera), Sidonie Armide (Buxton Festival), Atalanta Xerxes (British Youth Opera), Pousette Manon, Adèle Die Fledermaus and Actor A Night at the Chinese Opera (Scottish Opera), Despina Così fan tutte (Clonter Opera), Zerlina Don Giovanni, Susanna Le nozze di Figaro, Berta Il barbiere di Siviglia and Brigitta Iolanta (Opera Holland Park), Mimì La bohème (Scottish Opera On Tour), Clorinda La cenerentola (Welsh National Opera), Giannetta The Gondoliers – Cover (ENO), the Mahagonny Songspiel (BBC Kurt Weill Festival at the Barbican), Second Playmate Der Zwerg (Opera North) and Essential Scottish Opera on tour. Sarah Redgwick appears regularly in concert, her performances including Classics for Christmas for Raymond Gubbay at the Barbican, the B Minor Mass with Guildford Philharmonic Orchestra, the J. S. Bach Magnificat and the world première of Rutti’s Stabat Mater at St John’s, Smith Square, The Apostles at Eton College, Messiah with the Oxford Philomusica and the Really Big Chorus at the Royal Albert Hall, London, the Nelson Mass in Portsmouth Cathedral, the Mozart Mass in C Minor in Wells Cathedral, the Mozart Requiem and Orff Carmina Burana for Chesterfield Philharmonic Choir and Poulenc Gloria at the Farnham Maltings. She recently appeared at Last Night of the Proms with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and was featured on STV’s The Royal Blind Scottish Royal Variety Variety Performance. Her current engagements include Marzelline Fidelio for Opera Holland Park, Giannetta L’elisir d’amore, Anna Intermezzo and an Opera Gala conducted by Francesco Corti for Scottish Opera, Donna Elvira Don Giovanni – Cover – for English National Opera, Rosalinda Die Fledermaus for Opera Della Luna, Gilda Rigoletto for Opéra de Baugé and New Year’s Galas for Raymond Gubbay Ltd.
