TODD WILANDER

TENOR

Winner of many competitions, including the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, the Belvedere Competition in Vienna and the Licia Albanese / Puccini Foundation, Todd Wilander comes from Arcadia, California, and studied at California State University and the University of Missouri. In his native North America, roles have included Molqi The Death of Klinghoffer at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, Rodolpho A View from the Bridge for Portland Opera, Lysander A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Lyric Opera of Kansas City, Percy Anna Bolena, Wilhelm Mignon andFisherman William Tell for the Opera Orchestra of New York, Edgardo Lucia di Lammermoor for Opera Memphis, Kudryas Katya Kabanova, Belmonte Die Entfûhrung aus dem Serail and Tamino Die Zauberflöte at the San Francisco Opera, Don Ottavio Don Giovanni for Opera Memphis, Tito La clemenza di Tito and Don Ottavio Don Giovanni for West Bay Opera. Eurimaco Il ritorno d’Ulisse at Glimmerglass Opera, Rodolfo La bohème at Madison Opera Center, Rinuccio Gianni Schicchi for Opera Delaware, Don Ramiro La cenerentola for Opera Nevada and Opera Saskatchewan, Italian Tenor Der Rosenkavalier for the New Israeli Opera and Fenton Falstaff at Chautauqua Opera.

He performs regularly in concert, appearing with orchestras such as the Grant Park Music Festival Symphony Orchestra, the Hamburg NDR Philharmonic Orchestra, the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, the Los Angeles Music Center Orchestra, Kansas City Symphony, the Memphis Symphony and Sacramento Symphony Orchestra. Highlights of his European operatic career have included the title role in Roberto Devereux and Renaud Armide at the Buxton Festival, Frère Massée Saint François at the Deutsche Oper, Berlin, Belmonte Die Entfûhrung aus dem Serail at the Landestheater Linz, Rodolfo La bohème in Toulouse, Edmondo Manon Lescaut for Opera Holland Park, Nanki-Poo The Mikado at La Fenice, Venice, and Friday Night is Music Night for BBC Radio 2.

Current engagements include Nadir Les pêcheurs des perles for the Anna Livia International Opera Festival, Dublin, Tonio La Fille du Regiment for Opera Zuid, Arturo Lucia di Lammermoor for the Metropolitan Opera, New York, Leicester Maria Stuarda for Chelsea Opera Group, Dublin, the title role in Roberto Devereux at the Buxton Festival, Sam Susannah for English Touring Opera and Edoardo Un giorno di regno for Stanley Hall Opera.
